turning towards Christmas.

This is what Millie's getting for Christmas. It's in the top of the closet. Waiting. She pointed at it the other day and I acted like I didn't see the gesture. Or hear the words.

I'm finding it easy to find gift ideas for 3 year olds. They are so numerous that I keep tripping over them in my quest for Ellis. I have no clue as to what to get for the 18 monther. Any suggestions? Please?

Jackie, I understand your pain. Poor Isaac is always harder to shop for than his older brother. At least with child #3 I have new ideas since she's a girl and I can get girly things. When my boys were your girls' ages I found that I got more "educational" and "discovery" type toys for the younger child - I guess I figured there was plenty of "entertainment" toys out in my house already. Some of our favorites...a rolling telephone, sorting shapes thing, books, a "talking" book where the child can push icons that talk/make noise as you (the adult) read the words, cute flashcard type things that have animals, shapes, colors, etc. on them (Isabel LOVED these - still does actually!), a great matching game with OREO plastic cookies and shapes and a Noah's Ark matching game with animals where you put the match into the ark under the specified shape symbol (I think these are both Fisher Price). I'll keep thinking. Good luck. Now if you have any ideas for a 5 1/2 year old let me know...I can always use help with Isaac. Shawnda

UGH! We're having the same problem here, too. I have her Santa gift, but that's it. And she's my GIRL. You'd think this would be easy. I totally feel your pain! Let's brainstorm together...

Ed (1) is getting a rocking horse from Santa this year and Adelle (2 1/2) is getting dress-ups. All I have to say is Costco, Costco, Costco. So many gift ideas for kids!! Other things I have thought about for our kids are Bright Sounds music by Janeen Brady (safety kids, I have a song for you and all the values) or doing a joint gift like a tramp. These are the no stress years. Wait until they get older and want expensive things. Ugh! Have fun!

Shawnda- You always have the best ideas for toys. Maybe we'll do a talking book, we don't have any of those yet. Ellis likes the flashcards - we have 3 sets! I'm going to look into the cookie and Noah's ark matching games. As for 5.5 yr olds....that is hard. Especially boys. I'm really awesome at finding things for older girls. how did that happen?

Angee - I'm holding you to that brainstorming session.

Paige - That's so funny - we got Millie's doctor kit at Costco. So I hear you. I love just walking up and down the aisles. Ellis has all of a sudden started getting angry, though, if I don't stop and let her touch everything. So we don't do it as often. I hear you on dress up - perhaps I will get Ellis some dress up shoes. She really likes shoes.
