1:00 AM. Cries from a daughter who refuses to poop. In a groggy state, I take her to the bathroom. She screams the second she sits on the toilet.
Ringing ears and 2 bite marks later, we retreat to our rooms. Millie into pleasant slumber, knowing that she didn't have to poop. And me into a state of complete awakeness, exclaiming to Clin that I hate the word mother. And everything that it entails.

If I had a video camera, I would re-enact for all the blogging world to see Jackie's rant against the word "mother". It would make a lovely Mother's Day card. I think that should be a special Hallmark card- a card for mother's trying to get their children to poop at 2:00am. And then their children bite them. Twice. Hee hee.
I have a question about the pooping? Does it hurt her to poop, is she constipated? My Isaac had major pooping issues when he was a baby, but taking him off whole milk to 2% helped out. I have no idea why.
Oh - It doesn't hurt her to poop because she takes Miralax, which is not a laxative, but fiber - which keeps the stools soft. (They are soft, I check almost all of them.) She has a fear of pooping, though, because a year ago she did get constipated and it started this awesome cycle that we have been going through the past year. I'm totally trying the milk idea. Thanks!
Clin - that would be like the anti-mothers day card...or the realistic mother's day card.
Jackie-
I love your blog! Mostly because I love you and love the way you share your life and experiences in such a hilarious way! And the other part of why I love your blog is because it brings to mind my similar experiences as a mother and then my life looks a little more funny that I thought it was 2 minutes ago. Good luck with the pooping thing, someday you will laugh at those bites (or maybe you already are?!) Love you, Misha
I so relate. More often than not, I hate being a mom at ANY hour of the NIGHT. And the biting?! ACK!
But then they crawl into your arms and look up at you with those sweet eyes, and it's all worth it.
Just not at 2 AM...
